This last summer travelled to Italy. It is a once in a lifetime experience, the views and the food were unexplainable. The only downside was the super long flight, but the anticipation to get there made up for all the hours of sitting. If you need any pointers if you are planning a trip there you can totally ask my some questions. My favourite part of Italy was definitely the food! Every night I made the hardest decision of choosing pasta or pizza. There are so many varieties of pasta, but the Margherita pizza is to die for (and really cheap)!
Here are some pictures of my trip:
There are some must-haves you must try in Italy. As a tourist there i will give you the foods you must try.
I had Gelato almost every single night for one month in Italy. The texture is so soft and there are so many flavours to choose from. My favourite flavour was Walnut from this little shop called Bar Italia in Tuscany. Almost every block had a little corner store that sold Gelato and piled mountains of Gelato in the display window.
2. Caprese Salad
Caprese was invented in a small town along the ocean called Capri. The best salad you can get is right in the town of Capri because they use this rich, delicious mozzarella. I have never had tomatoes and basil fresher than ones in Italy!
There were so many options every day for pasta. Gnocchi, ravioli, tortellini, spaghetti, lasagna, linguine, alfredo, etc. Bread was also served at every single restaurant to go along with all the dishes. Let me just tell you that there are going to be so many things you want off the menu that you’re going to end up doing “eeny meeny miny moe” between foods.
Oh my gosh, I can’t even start to tell you how good the pizza was. Thin crust, gooey cheese, and fresh tomato sauce.
This liquor tastes so much like lemons. You need to try it, so you can finally cross it off your bucket list. Accomplished drinking lemon Italian liquor!
Make sure to try these foods and drinks if you ever find yourself in the boot country.
